Q1: Does laser cutting make the edge of the neoprene hard or scratchy?
No. We calibrate our laser machines perfectly. The heat is just high enough to seal the microscopic fabric threads without burning or hardening the rubber core. The edge remains soft, flexible, and completely smooth.
Q2: Is Lycra binding better than standard nylon binding?
Yes. Neoprene is highly elastic. It stretches. Standard nylon does not stretch well. If you put a stiff nylon edge on a stretchy bag, the thread will snap. Lycra (Spandex) stretches naturally with the rubber. It is the absolute best choice for edge binding.
